| TOPIC: Lies CRITIC: Jenny LOCATION: Americas RATING: 5/5 |
When "Lies" first blared from my speakers, I instantly fell in love with it. The tune was catchy and I attempted to sing the words along with Tom and Danny though it was the first time I've ever listened to it. After hearing it the first time, I downloaded it and synchronized it to my Ipod. The next time I played it, I started to go mental by jumping around the room and rocking out to the "hardcore" melody. My favorite part would have to be the bass solo, I say that it's about time someone gave Dougie his solo - next will and should be Harry's. This single, I believe, should have been added to their list of #1's. It's a shame that some of the other critics believe it was "poppy." This entire single shows the growth and maturity of McFLY. If you ever listend to "Five Colors" and then "Lies" you'll here a major turn over. Though some would say that the old McFLY was better then the new, you can't expect them to sing the same happy melody over and over, and the band is well past puberty, come on now. The old McFLY is still there, you just have an old taste and a new one. |
