DECEMBER '08 >> Gracie, USA.
When I first discovered McFLY, it was like an obsession that started instantly. I found myself "googling" McFLY every time I had a computer placed in front of me. I wanted to know and find everything about them. I watched every video that You Tube provided. Every song was downloaded and put onto my MP3 and posters soon made themselves upon my wall. I love McFLY because they satisfie every taste I have for music. You know, I had the bands that I liked and had a few of their songs or maybe an album that I decided to pick up, but that "liking" was nothing compared to my love towards McFLY. Some said their songs were really cheesy, but hey, why dress up the feelings with fancy, physiological meanings and situations? I didn't care what anyone else thought, because I loved everything about them. Tom's voice mixed with Danny's is like blending your two favorite flavors. I've loved McFLY since Room on the 3rd Floor and grew with their music over the years. Radio:ACTIVE satisfies my new taste buds, but I continue to bounce and rock my head to the tunes of "Five Colors." I can see that Harry, Tom, Dougie and Danny really put their all into their music; they're more then "one-hit wonders." Screw the critics and the haters, they will never make my mind up about McFLY because it's already made up - I frickin love this band!
JANUARY '09 >> Morie, USA.
I'm more then likely not the most dedicated and obsessive fan of McFLY, but I am one of those who mark them as their favorite band and have been for years now. Being a fan of America, the posters aren't marked up on my walls and not all the CD singles are collected on my shelfs. But, my binder is decorated of them. Though my friends have no idea of who McFLY is, they know when they hear the name to think of me - which makes me feel some what special. Though I wish McFLY all of luck in the world to be sucessful and to stick around for years upon years, the idea of them blowing up in America is uneasy for me. When people here are exposed to a new phenomenon they wear it out extremely hard and extremely fast. As long as they continue releasing albums and play shows, I'm happy. And, perhaps a couple shows here would be very nice. However, as long as they pass all low expectations giving to a "boy pop band," I'm satisfied. And how I see it, they are gaining distance from it. McFLY may not be seen as the next Beatles or Beach Boys, but to me, their music sparks something in me and makes them a huge deal to me. I may not be the biggest McFLY fan, but in no way am I the smallest.
