Me again...(Tom)

Well the annual tour cold is here! First Dougie got it and now it seems to have got to me...and I think harry has it too. Great! Oh well, just means that those of you in the front few rows are at risk of getting sprayed with flem, snot, and cold ridden sweat...yummy!

Anyways, we had a day off today, was supposed to go flying for a few hours but the beautiful British weather had other plans. But did some Christmas shopping instead...only 38 sleeps til the big day people!

Was a great show in Plymouth last night, hope everyone enjoyed it. To all those who came to see us in Bournemouth, I am very sorry for forgetting my words in Corrupted ...what a twerp.

Right, better be off. Got a lot of Heroes to catch up on!

Tom x

Shaboom, here it is.

"Helicopters, Children in Need and World of Warcraft...

Hey bloggers,

How are you all? Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that's come to the tour so far, we've had an amazing reception everywhere. We're having an awesome time, playing Plymouth tonight and can't wait.

Had a pretty busy day on Friday, opened the Children in Need show in London at 7 and then had to rush to a helicopter and fly up to Birmingham to play our show at 8:45! Was good fun though...I sat in the cockpit with the pilot, flying is awesome!

Anyway, got to pack my case for the tour bus now...and maybe squeeze in a couple of minutes on World of Warcraft before we leave!...oh god im a loser.

Tom

"McFLY Start New Era"

from: md @ 14 Nov 2008 0 comments
Found this article on McFLY:

"MCFLY seem like the Peter Pans of the music world, boys – destined to remain young forever.
So when they start talking about running their own record label, getting engaged and – heaven forbid – having babies, alarm bells start ringing.
If McFly are growing up, what hope is there for the rest of us?
Fear not. The youthful charm remains intact as the hard-working twenty-something foursome embark on yet another tour of the UK, stopping off to delight fans with a return to Plymouth Pavilions next weekend.
An on-road creche for McFly offspring is a little way off yet, but next-door neighbours Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd are all in long-term relationships that seem to be surviving the strains of regular separation. "When we were working on the new album with Jason Perry, who was in the rock band A, he remarked that bands tend to do things all at once," muses Tom, the eldest band member at 23.
"If one member has a relationship, they all do. If one gets engaged, the others follow suit. When someone has kids, then everyone has kids, so maybe that's what will happen to us. We'd have to get another tour bus just for the babies."
When they all lived in a house together, Dougie's room was where they all hung out. Now that they each have their own houses in the same Hertfordshire road, Dougie's place is still the social – and creative – centre of their universe.
"His room was the smallest but we would all squeeze in there. I think it was because he didn't tell us off for making a mess," says Tom.
"Getting along has never been an issue for us and we love spending time together. I've got the biggest house, so if there's a big party it tends to be at mine. But we still spend the most time at Dougie's. That's just the way it's always been."
Dougie also lives below the band's studio, so it was here that the ideas for their fourth album, Radio:ACTIVE, started to flow. It was released as a newspaper giveaway on their own Super Records label, marking a glorious start to the second stage of the quartet's career.
Running their own business has changed the complexion of daily duties for the band, but it's a role they welcome.
"It was an obvious thing to do," says Tom. "We had a few differences with our record company and we've been lucky to make enough money to fund it ourselves.
"We have to make all the decisions now. It was a bit scary at first, but we've got a good team behind us."
But what they still love best is playing live.
"It's the best part of the job and we've got a brand new show," Tom says.
"Our fans have heard us playing our songs for five years now, so we've got a few surprises for them."
Support comes from Manchester pop-punk favourites Reemer.
McFly play Plymouth Pavilions on Sunday. For tickets call the box office on 0845 146 1460 or visit www.plymouthpavilions.com

ShowBiz Ireland pictures/small article

from: md @ 13 Nov 2008 0 comments
"Punk Rock-lite band McFly and its members Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter & Harry Judd hit Ireland this week. Between rather large concerts in the RDS & The Odyssey Arena, and an appearance at TodayFM, the boys hardly had time to pick rummage for bogies. Truth be told, the saccharin coated punk rock music McFly brew-up aint really our preferred cup o' Darjeeling folks... But enough screaming mad teenage girls seem to dig their tunes. And then some. We actually thought / wished / prayed McFly had faded away and passed into 'I always get them mixed up with Busted' pop history obscurity. Apparently not. The UK foursome was holed-up in The Morrison Hotel this week bewteen playing sold-out Irish concerts North and South of the border... One in The Odyssey Arena in Belfast and another in Dublin's RDS. We caught-up with the crazy guys after they performed live at TodayFM studios and as they lugged their own guitars back to a waiting car. What, no roadies? We also spotted bass player Dougie Poynter sitting in the back of the vehicle - a little preoccupied with something up his nose... Ewwww. What was that British Saturday morning kids' TV show called that used to use the catchphrase: "booogies"? Pick us a winner Dougie."
